Dear Friends,
 
It has been fifteen years since the Lord first placed a burden on Dr. Ted Bashford’s heart for Romania. After praying over the matter for 6 years, he called me to put together a team to go in and survey the land. We felt like the spies going into the land of Canaan. We flew to Romania in November 2000. Since that time, God has accomplished much through the work of the “Bashford Foundation”, a non-profit organization that allows us to work in Romania under the direction of Union Mission Ministries.
 
Here is an account of the accomplishments since the first survey trip:
- Annual Pastor’s Conference since 2003. 9th Annual Conference
  completed February 2011
- Annual Vacation Bible Schools since 2002
- Annual Medical & Vision Clinic’s since 2003
- Bi-annual Ladies Conferences since 2005
- August, 2010, First American Football Clinic. We hope to build on 
  this is the future
 
The work and the harvest are great, but the laborers are few. Thousands have accepted Christ since the mission began. Hundreds of Romanians have been mentored and we have likewise been mentored by the people of God in Romania.
 
The Bashford Foundation purchased over 40 hectares of land (110 acres) to be used for a ministry following the example of Hope Haven & the Union Mission. The timeline is as follows:
- March 2009: All property acquisition complete.
- February 2011: Master planning complete
- March 2012: Completion of detailed Master Planning. Start of Blueprints
  for the first buildings.
- Summer 2013: Blueprints complete & “Shovel Ready”  
- Summer 2015: House first teams on the Property 
 
I would like to thank the hundreds of American team members and supporters for your continued support of the Project. I would also like to thank our Romanian hosts, supporters, and fellow team mates as we continue to develop this dynamic work. Please keep us in your prayers as we move forward and set the itinerary for the rest of 2011 & 2012. Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
