Where is The Union Mission Ministries located?
The Union Mission Men’s, Women and Family Shelters (open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year), Retail Training Center and Donation Center (directly behind the Welcome Center) are located at 5100 E. Virginia Beach Boulevard, Norfolk, Virginia. Hope Haven Children’s Home, Hope Haven Adult Home, and Camp Hope Haven are located at 3000 North Landing Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The New Life Center is located at 19034 Union Mission Drive, Franklin, Virginia.

How can I volunteer at The Union Mission?
We have many volunteer opportunities for people to use their skills, interests and gifts. First time volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation. Click here to sign up for a Volunteer Orientation or you may contact Micki Bremus at mbremus@ummnorva.org or call 757-627-8686, ext. 425.

What types of donations do you accept or need?
We accept new or gently used clothing and shoes, furniture, household items, bric-a-brac, lawn equipment and vehicles. Our current needs are men’s clothing, socks and underwear for men and women, shower shoes, women’s pajamas, baby items (diapers and formula), non-perishable canned or packaged food, bottled water, toiletries (hotel size preferred), and pillows. How is the Mission funded?
Since 1892, the Union Mission has been funded solely by individuals, churches, businesses and other organizations. We have never received any local, state or federal funding. Some donors have included us in their wills and estates.

Is The Union Mission Ministries affiliated with a particular church?
The Union Mission Ministries is a non-denominational faith-based Christian organization and a member of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. We have partnerships with many different churches who help us do this work the Lord has called us to do. Click here for a copy of our Mission Statement.

What does the Mission do with my personal information when I donate?
Your privacy is important to us. The Union Mission does not sell or release any information on their donors to any other organization. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Who benefits from my monetary donation?
Our mission is to serve the poor and homeless of our community. No person is denied services based on race, creed, sex, disability or national origin. As a 501C3 non-profit charitable organization, eighty percent of funds received provide food, shelter, clothing and other assistance to those in need. Twenty percent covers administrative and program expenses. A copy of our financial statement is available upon written request from the office of Consumer Affairs of the Commonwealth of Virginia or by calling (757) 427-1500.

What can I do if I want to receive less mail after I give?
