Rehabilitation & Job Skills Training

For those residing in our shelters, rehabilitation and job skills training is offered for men in our Discipleship and Training Program, for women through a bible based program, Victory Bound, and through other ministry programs designed to help people out of their homelessness. Classes in literacy, obtaining a G.E.D., budgeting, parenting, the culinary arts, landscaping, laundry services, retail and housing are also offered to help guests in our shelters to obtain jobs and permanent housing.

Case Management – Needs assessment, assistance with ID’s, birth certificates, benefits, housing, job and life skills training and referrals to various community agencies.

Discipleship and Training Program – In-depth counseling and Bible study while working towards independence. Provides work in ministry, stipend, room and board.

Micah Program – Meaningful work within the Ministry for those waiting for housing, jobs, or benefits.

Barnabas Program – After-care program providing work experience, counseling and Bible study.

Bible studies, classes in budgeting, parenting, life skills, healthy boundaries, anger management and conflict

Victory Bound – Bible-based recovery program addressing life controlling issues.

Provides men addicted to drugs and alcohol a second chance at life in a Christ-centered biblically based recovery center. The six-month residential program provides spiritual, vocational, social and physical training to help men gain a renewed sense of purpose. With a 65 percent success rate, many graduates have gone on to own their own companies and to be restored to their families.

The New Life Center distributes food and clothing to needy people in the Franklin area, aids in construction projects for individuals and churches and repairs facilities throughout The Union Mission Ministries.

Retail Training Center and Thrift Stores – Since 1957

Retail Training (Industrial Program) offers men a path to a successful and productive life through meaningful work in the thrift store, repair shop, warehouse and other areas of the Mission’s program. Counseling, Bible studies and chapel services are also provided.

Donations of clothing, furniture and household goods are provided to Mission guests and to the needy in the community free of charge. 100% of the thrift store profits are used to carry on the work of the ministry.
