Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit
Matthew 28:19

Dear Friends,

The Romanian FlagIn November 2000, I made my first visit to the country of Romania. I had been praying for this country for many years and the Lord kept placing a burden on my heart to help the people learn of His wonderful saving grace. During my stay, I saw a gracious, loving people... people searching for truth and meaning.

In April of 2003, I had the privilege of returning and preaching to 87 Romanian preachers in a Bible Conference held at the Lugoj Baptist Church. Many people came each night for the evangelistic services. One evening we had almost 1,300 attend. I found the people of Romania hungry for the Gospel and eager to learn more about God's precious word.

In August of 2003, The Union Mission sponsored a Missions Trip to Romania that included a Building Team, A Medical Team and a Team to hold Vacation Bible School for the children. As in the other trips, each team member was responsible for raising the cost for their team for the Mission Trip.

In March, 2004, we returned again to hold a Pastors Conference for 119 Romanian Pastors and a Women's Conference where we held Bible classes for 50 women.

Your support of Project Romania and the Mission team members is vital to the work of telling the Romania people about God's wonderful love. Please prayerfully consider what part you can play in support of the Team Members who will again travel to Romania in August 2004.

  • Romania has a population of 22,271,839 (July 2003 est.)
  • 69.5% of this country's people are Orthodox, 7% are Catholic, 8% are Protestant, and 14% are non-religious.
  • By comparison, Romania is slightly smaller than Oregon.
Sincerely,

Dr. Theodore A. Bashford
Executive Director

The purpose of the Mission trips to Romania is to revive and refresh the men of God at the Lugoj Baptist Church and to assist them with their ministry to the lost people in Romania. We are also working to obtain land to be used to build facilities similar to Hope Haven to include:

  • A Christian Education and Training Center for children and youth
  • A Summer Camp for children in need
  • A small Medical Clinic (medical needs are great, especially for the poor)
  • A storage building for equipment and vehicles
  • Homes for children and the elderly
  • A Guest House for American Mission Teams
  • A Radio & Television station
  • A Dining Hall
  • A Print Shop

Learn more about Romania.

All funding for the trips and any support we have given to the Romanian people was raised specifically for that purpose.
