In the middle of all this activity, I talked to Chris, a man who lived in our hotel and had many problems. He was an alcoholic, had no job and was very lonely. He wanted a change, something new in his life. He needed something that would give him victory over his problems. Chris didn't realize it at the time but he too, was looking for a gift. In meetings with Chris I shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and explained the gift of eternal life. After several meetings Chris made the decision to accept God's gracious gift of His son Jesus who died for our sins on the cross. At the moment of his acceptance Chris was freely forgiven and accepted as a son of God. I won't remember all the gifts we gave to many children at Christmas but I know one man who will never forget receiving the greatest gift of all. There are still others who seek the perfect gift for their lives. The Union Mission is dedicated to bring the "perfect gift" of Jesus to the lost and hurting people who come to the Mission each day.
