Please join us in prayer as we mourn the passing of our beloved Women and Children’s Shelter Administrator, Jill M. Gray on February 10, 2018. Jill was the wife of Executive Director, Rev. John W. Gray, Jr. and mother to their two children. Jill leaves a legacy of twenty-four years of faithful service to The Union Mission, but most importantly, to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Matthew 25:40 says, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Jill embodied that scripture with her caring heart for the hundreds of hurting women and children who came to the Mission every day. She was in charge of The Union Mission’s Ladies Auxiliary, Wellness Program, and played a key leadership role in most Mission’s events. She embodied what it means to have a servant heart.
A funeral service for Jill Gray will be held Wednesday, February 14, 12:00 p.m. at Colonial Baptist Church, 2221 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service following. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Shafer Building at Hope Haven located at 3000 North Landing Road, Virginia Beach 23456.
Please keep John Gray and his family in your prayers.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Jill Gray Memorial Fund.
