The best way to make a charitable bequest depends on your assets, family considerations, and charitable interests. You can give: a specific amount, a specific property, or a percentage of your assets. Things to consider:
A gift from your estate, through your will, or other estate planning vehicles, can only be made if you plan ahead. For more information, contact our Development office at (757) 627-8686 ext. 505 and ask for your free “Guide to Creating a God-Honoring Will.”
If your employer has a matching gift program, we’re twice blessed with your gift! Every $1 you give will double through the match, meaning twice the meals, shelter, and hope for our neediest neighbors.
How does it work? If you donate $50 your employer will donate a matching gift doubling the gift to $100. Check with your employer to see if they participate, or refer to this list of Matching Gift Companies.
There’s no better way to remember or honor a loved one than by helping the most vulnerable people in our community. Give a memorial or honorary gift today.
Through a Memorial Gift, your loved one will be remembered in prayer and by helping those in need. Each memorial gift is acknowledged by a letter mailed to the family of the deceased.
Through an Honorary Gift, you’ll help someone in the name of a friend or relative. Such a gift can also celebrate graduations, weddings, promotions, and retirements. Each is acknowledged by a card sent to the honoree.
